## Adjustments for Shipping

Adjustments allow you to specify a modification (either by amount or percentage) to specified geographic regions. Currently, adjustments are only supported for the United States and Canada.

Some destinations, such as Alaska or Hawaii, may incur additional shipping charges. To handle these scenarios, configure your shipping method according to your preferences, then add an adjustment to destinations that have an additional cost.

For example, for shipments to Alaska, you might add an additional 15% or $5 to the calculated shipping price.

Additionally, you can use adjustments to make a _negative_ adjustment to specified geographic regions. This allows you to reduce the calculated shipping price for destinations that cost less because they are close to the shipping location. If a negative adjustment reduces the shipping price below 0, then the shipping price will be set to 0.
